My Brief Introduction – About myself in 140 characters or less
Unconventional. French transplant. Decision maker. Game changer. Music aficionado. Mother. Friend. Team leader. Aviationphile. Runner. Straight talker.
Wait, you want to know a little more about me?
Okay.
How about: first Vice-President and General Manager of both Air France and KLM in the U.S., as well as being the first woman to do so. Stationed at our US headquarters in New York (when not traveling for business) since July of 2009.
I’ve been with Air France for many years (I refuse to date myself) but most recently I arrived from across the pond as I was the General Manager and Vice-President of Air France and KLM for the UK and Ireland.
Background-wise, some might consider me to be somewhat non-traditional. I have Master’s in Aeronautics as well as Business Administration from ENSMA and ESSEC respectively. Additionally, my first job at Air France was in maintenance. Not really where you would expect to find a French woman, is it?
Stating the somewhat obvious: I am French, born and raised in Avignon (a small town in Provence), but that doesn’t restrict me from embracing the Dutch side and pride of KLM. Though I am still Dutch challenged when it comes to the language.
My goals for my time here in the US are multiple. Firstly, I am here and working hard to make sure that Air France and KLM have the best visibility possible in the US market. Somehow, it seems not everyone knows who we are or how many flights we have. Secondly, with our joint venture partner Delta, we are pioneering the landscape of the airline industry with our unique venture and are making sure that it is a complete success. And finally, I’m here to break down the walls and communicate with you, our customers and audience.
