40 Years of Our First Double-Decker

747

One of the greatest things about being legacy carriers is being steeped in aviation history. Both Air France and KLM have entire departments dedicated to archiving our respective histories, from uniforms to pictures to videos, and keeping track of our anniversaries.

Our newest double-decker, the Airbus A380, is the most recent marvel of the skies – with the largest screens in every class of service and latest entertainment system, timed mood lighting, 6 bars across 2 decks, largest bathrooms on-board, and the quietest and most fuel-efficient engines. The Boeing 747 was the most innovative and modern plane in service. To this day people are still in love with the aircraft and many vie to sit on the upper deck.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of our very first 747, the Air France historical department has released a video of the delivery from the Boeing factory in Everett, Seattle. Watch and brush up on your French.
